We have Honey Bees
Did you know that E3 has it's own beehives? Caryn and her sister, Marge, began a new venture this spring and became beekeepers. The bees worked hard all summer and the honey was recently harvested. Soaptopia received some of this yummy honey to be used in Orange You Glad, Honey Soap, created by soap maker extraordinaire Jolie Chitwood-Cox.
This creamy soap is curing and will be ready soon. In celebration of this new venture and the bounty that the "girls" (bees) provided, E3 is offering a free bar of Orange You Glad, Honey Soap (while supplies last) with orders $50 or more placed November 1st through December 31st. Just mention FREE SOAP when you place your order.

Seasonal Self Care
Colds & Flu
Autumn and winter are often referred to as "the cold and flu seasons." During this time, we usually do see an increase in upper respiratory, viral infections. Interestingly, this is not believed to be due to the cooler temperatures or even getting cold or wet; it is believed to be due to people spending more time in closed quarters in close proximity with each other and a lack of fresh air. Stress is also thought to be a factor--from being closed indoors, the lack of sun, and the holiday season. If we are stressed or even slightly depressed, our immunity weakens, opening the door for viruses to take hold.
Essential oil therapy can both support the immune system and relieve the symptoms of colds and flu. Popular essential oils for these purposes are Ravintsara , Bay Laurel , Eucalyptus Globulus and Radiata , Rosemary , and Tea Tree . Also try our Synergy Blends: Cold & Sinus and Protection They are best used in chest rubs, lymph massage on the sides of the neck, or inhalation.

Essential Connections
Essential 3 works with many wonderful people across the country. It is important to us to build and maintain these relationships. They make our work meaningful and are what we call, "our essential connections." In recognition and gratitude, we share some of their stories.
Generations Hospice in Louisiana is dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care to individuals diagnosed with terminal illnesses. It was founded on a Christian mission in 2003 by Mike Dehlin and the late Ronald Spangler and now has a staff of over sixty. Their professionals and volunteers assist both patient and family in navigating this life transition.
Always striving to meet and exceed the expectations of their patients, Generations Hospice identified a need for specialized care for their patients with dementia. Staff members wanted to offer more to these patients to improve their quality of life. This desire led to the development of the "Complementary Therapies" program, which offers a variety of supportive therapies, including aromatherapy.
The nursing staff and certified nurse aides have been specially trained to use essential oils in many different situations. They also use Hospice Blends that have been formulated by Caryn and Nikki Hernandez, Certified Clinical Aromatherapist at Saint John's Hospice and blended by Essential 3. These blends were designed to meet the unique needs of those facing end-of-life.
Although aromatherapy was initially offered to the patients with dementia, the nursing staff soon began wanting to allow all of their patients to experience the benefits. They even report using them for themselves!

Essential 3 has taken a devoted interest in hospices, and is committed to developing programs, creating blends, educating, and supporting this profound and gracious work. Using aromatherapy in this setting is becoming more accepted and is growing because it can, indeed, improve the quality of end-of-live for all involved. Those last precious moments should be as comfortable and special as possible. Many of the testimonials we hear say those moments can even be beautiful and that aromatherapy can play a role in this.
